We usually ship your chronograph with a lock in the crown. This ensures that the battery does not discharge unnecessarily during transport. This lock is a small plastic split pin. As soon as you have removed it, the crown is in the so-called "second position" - the second hand at 6 o'clock does not tick and the crown cannot be pulled out any further.
Rotate the crown clockwise away from you until the date jumps once. Then continue until the hands are between 10 a.m. and 14 p.m. This is how you prevent incorrect operation.
Now push the crown in one position, the second hand at 6 o'clock is now ticking. Turn the crown clockwise until the date of the previous day is displayed.
Now pull the crown back to position two and turn it again until the date jumps to the current day. Now you can set the time exactly. Then push in the crown.
For the V5, we use the Myiota / Citizen 6S20 Mecha quartz movement. The company has supplied us with movements since the beginning and is one of the largest producers of branded movements worldwide.
The central second hand measures the seconds for the chronograph mechanism. It ticks several times per second and thus enables very precise measurements - unlike a conventional quartz movement, which only registers individual seconds, the 6S20 is able to measure up to a tenth of a second.
The entire design and development process took place in Germany, and maintenance and service are carried out by watchmakers here.
Our production partners have their main locations in southern China. The industrial heart of the country. During some visits we were able to convince ourselves of the competence and the quality. Many of our partner companies also produce for large companies from Europe. Quality is the top you can expect in the price range. Our watches are manufactured on top quality machines by very well trained watchmakers and industrialists. The final assembly is carried out by a team whose head has been active in the industry for decades and has already worked for the big ones.
Quality control is primarily carried out by this Chinese specialist, then again by our watchmakers in Germany and finally shortly before dispatch.
"Genuine Made in Germany" is not possible for the price point of our watches.
Having parts from Asia assembled in Germany is not our definition of being manufactured at home. Many see it differently, but there we prefer to break with the general opinion.
Our watches would have to get a good premium in order to proudly be able to carry the label "Made In Germany" - the quality would not improve.
In the future, a Machia will come from Germany - with this we guarantee not only the assembly, but also the origin of all parts (except the plant) from Germany.
We usually ship with DHL or UPS. If you have a special request, please let us know using the contact form or by making a comment in the order.
Shipping within Germany is free of charge. We also offer an express option.
Your Machia will usually reach you within 1-3 working days.
