Where are you from? Why Machia, why V5?
Although we don't care much about traditions, we also have a past.
All the questions we are asked frequently (and many more) are answered in the following lines.
Have fun while reading!
German design, Italian name?
Contrary to many assumptions, MACHIA is not a pure artificial name. An Italian writer and philosopher named Niccolò Machiavelli († June 21, 1527) sponsored Machia with his name.
Machiavelli and his literature never fit into the mainstream. He had his own head, if you will. A classification of his works is still not possible to this day.
"Being ambiguous and inexhaustible is the signature of a classic."
Even our strong designs don't hide, some may even speak of polarization.
The start as a private project
A watch according to his ideas, something unique and very personal, far from the mainstream - that was the basic idea of our founder at the beginning.
The first drawings and designs were created during my studies. A process that spanned many evenings, weeks and months. The interest for wristwatches became a passion ...
Machia deliberately positions itself as the opposite pole to the mainstream. Breaking with convention is our hobby.
What does V5 mean?
The first draft was of course not the last. The design continued to develop over a total of five evolutionary stages and culminated in the final draft of the V5. From the first version on, however, one thing always remained the same, from design to design ...
The edgy DNA of a machia.
The fifth version, the V5 Chronograph, is our masterpiece for now. But stay tuned - the next striking watch is already in the design phase.
V5 stands for independent free spirit who does not bend or blindly follow the crowd.
